One of the fundamental philosophies of ACSA is to further the sport of sailing, as evidenced by the presentation of the ODNR "Outstanding Contributions and Service in Boating Education 2007" award to Tom Wehrung, the chairman of our Learn-To-Sail program .
The club supports sailing programs through various outlets for both children and adults. We offer experiences through our weekly races, weekend regattas and formal classes, where students can learn the ins and outs of safe, enjoyable sailing under the guidance of experienced boaters.
- Adult Learn to Sail Classes.
ACSA conducts a number of adult learn to sail classes throughout the summer. Courses consist of at least 2.5 hours of instruction each week over a six week period, and involve classroom and on-the-water experience on sailboats from 22 ft to 26ft in length. All classes are conducted at the Alum Creek Sailing Facility off Lewis Center Rd.
Click here for directions to the facility from the I71 Polaris Mall exit.
The classroom fee includes study materials, instruction and a proctored OBEC test.
