About Our Sailing Camp

Our junior sailing camp offers 32 hours of sailing instruction on shore and on the water. Students will learn to sail on a variety of small sailboats ranging from 7 to 13 feet long. After completing the course, they are welcome to rejoin for the next summer's advancement in sailing lessons or attend the club's social events.

Students will not only learn the sport of sailing, but they will also learn a variety life skills. Sailing is a team sport, so students will gain practice collaborating and working with peers. While on the water, they will exercise what they learned in shore school as they tie knots, trim sails, maneuver a boat independently, and read the wind.

Not only are they exercising their mind, but sailing is also a great physical activity. Taking part in this course is a great alternative to traditional summer camps and opens new doors for lifelong learning and adventure!

Each day will include a variety of sailing instruction including engaging on shore lessons in the club pavilion, games, and on the water activities. The camp will operate rain or shine. If weather does not permit safe sailing, lessons and learning activities will proceed in the pavilion.

A typical day will proceed as following:

8:30-9:00 am Drop off and check in the Pavilion
9:00 am Shore school
10:00 am Setting up the boats
10:30 Morning sail
12:00 Lunch
